Lotto Max

Do you know that Lotto Max is the Canada’s Biggest Jackpot game! It came into existence on September 19, 2009 replacing Lotto Super 7. The first set of winning numbers was drawn on September 25, 2009, and subsequent draws have been held every Friday.  This newest National Lottery is administered by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation, which works with the five regional lottery corporations owned by the 10 provinces and 3 territories.

How to Play

  • There are a set of 49 numbers to choose from and players must choose seven numbers,
  • You receive three seven-number Selections for $5. You can select one set of numbers, and the Ticket Terminal selects another two.
  • Jackpots start at a minimum of $10 Million and can grow to $50 Million!
  • When the Lotto Max Jackpot exceeds $50 Million, additional Maxmillions draws will occur with prizes of $1 Million each!
  • For an additional $1 per play, you can add Friday’s Extra for a chance to win the $250,000 Top Prize or $100,000 second prize!
  • Draws are held every Friday, with Lotto Max tickets sold until 9 p.m. (Eastern Time) on draw nights.
  • Lotto Max is available for sale across Canada online and at the Retailers.

Changes in Lotto Max from July  2015

  • Lotto Max jackpots are getting bigger! Beginning with the draw on July 17, 2015, the Main Jackpot will be able to reach $60 million instead of the current $50 million.
  • Price will remain the same: three sets of numbers per $5 play.
  • Maxmillions prizes will still start when the jackpot gets to $50 million. After that, both the jackpot and the number of Maxmillions will grow until the jackpot reaches $60 million.
  • Once the Main Jackpot reaches $60 million, only the number of Maxmillions may grow.
  • To support the higher jackpot cap, there will be some shifts within the overall prize structure.
  • The gaming condition will be effective at 9 p.m. (Eastern Time) on July 10, 2015.

On two occasions the Lotto Max jackpot has exceeded $100 million, in three weeks of rollovers, once with 18 millionaires being created. In July 2013 one player won the capped $50 million jackpot, and 17 of the available 50 Maxmillions prizes were won by other players, with the remaining $33 million rolling over to the next jackpot cycle.
